Library Rules & Regulations

Sinha Library follows a set of rules and regulations to ensure a smooth and disciplined environment for all members.

1. General Rules

• Library members must carry their membership card at all times.
• Silence must be maintained inside the library premises.
• Mobile phones should be kept on silent mode.
• Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the library.

2. Book Borrowing & Return

• Books must be borrowed using a valid membership card.
• Borrowed books should be returned on or before the due date to avoid fines.
• Members are responsible for the books they borrow and must return them in good condition.
• Lost or damaged books must be replaced or paid for by the borrower.

3. Reading Room & Study Spaces

• Reading rooms are meant for study and research; discussions should be conducted in designated areas.
• Group study rooms require prior booking and must be used responsibly.
• Personal belongings should not be left unattended, as the library is not responsible for any loss.

4. Digital Library & Internet Use

• Access to digital resources is limited to registered members.
• Members must not misuse the internet for personal entertainment or unauthorized activities.
• Downloading or sharing copyrighted materials is strictly prohibited.

5. Library Conduct & Penalties

• Any misbehavior or violation of library rules may result in suspension of membership.
• Library property must be handled with care; damage to books, furniture, or equipment may lead to penalties.
• The library staff has the authority to enforce rules and take necessary action against violators.
