Fines & Late Reture Policies

Inspiring Generations Through Education and Culture!

Sinha Library follows a structured fine and late return policy to ensure timely book circulation and fair access to resources for all members.

1. Late Return Fines:
  • A fine is charged for each day a book is returned after the due date.
  • The fine amount varies based on the book type and membership category.
  • Continuous delays in returning books may lead to suspension of borrowing privileges.
2. Lost or Damaged Books:
  • If a book is lost, the member must replace it with the same edition or pay the book’s current market price.
  • If a book is returned in a damaged condition, the library will assess the damage, and a penalty may be charged.
3. Fine Payment Process:
  • Fines must be paid at the library’s circulation desk before borrowing more books.
  • In case of unpaid fines, the member’s borrowing privileges may be temporarily revoked.
4. Special Considerations:
  • In certain cases, such as medical emergencies, members can request an extension before the due date.
  • Library authorities may waive or reduce fines in exceptional situations at their discretion.
