Code of Conduct

Sinha Library maintains a strict *Code of Conduct* to ensure a respectful, quiet, and organized environment for all visitors. Members and guests must follow these guidelines while using the library.

1. General Behavior:
  • Visitors must maintain silence inside the library.
  • Mobile phones should be kept on silent mode, and phone calls must be taken outside.
  • Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the library premises.
  • Visitors should respect library staff and fellow members at all times.
2. Use of Library Resources:
  • Books, furniture, and equipment should be handled carefully.
  • Members must not write on, fold, or damage books and other materials.
  • Library computers should be used only for research and educational purposes.
  • Downloading or sharing copyrighted content without permission is prohibited.
3. Membership Responsibilities:
  • Membership cards are non-transferable and should not be shared.
  • Members are responsible for books they borrow and must return them on time to avoid fines.
  • Any misuse of library privileges may lead to suspension or cancellation of membership.
4. Study Spaces & Reading Areas:
  • Reading rooms are for quiet study; group discussions should be conducted in designated areas.
  • Personal belongings should not be left unattended.
  • Members must follow seating arrangements and avoid reserving seats unnecessarily.
5. Disciplinary Actions:
  • Violation of rules may result in warnings, fines, or suspension of membership.
  • Any misconduct, vandalism, or disruptive behavior will lead to strict action, including permanent membership cancellation.
