Sachchidananda Sinha Library
Founder of Sachchidananda Sinha Library
The library was established in 1924 by Dr. Sachchidananda Sinha academic,writer and the president of the constituent assembly that drafted the Indian Constitution
its inaugural function was attended by Sir Henry Wheeler, the then governor of Bihar and Orissa Province. In 1955, the library originally known as Shrimati Radhika Sinha Institute and Sachchidananda Sinha Library, was taken over by the state government to be turned into a state central library.

1. Book Borrowing Process:
Eligibility:
Only registered members with a valid membership card can borrow books.
Borrowing Limit:
The number of books allowed varies based on the membership category (students, researchers, general readers).
Loan Duration:
Typically, books are issued for 7 to 14 days, depending on the book category and membership type.
Issuing Process:
Select the book(s) from the library collection.
Present the book and membership card at the circulation desk.
The librarian will update the records and issue the book(s) to the member.
2. Book Renewal Process:
Renewal Eligibility:
Books can be renewed once or twice, provided no other member has requested the same book.
Renewal Methods:
Visit the library in person with the book and membership card.
Online renewal (if available) through the library portal.
Renewal Duration:
An additional 7 to 14 days based on the book type and demand.
Payment of Fees (if applicable):
Membership fees vary based on the category (student, general reader, research scholar, etc.).
Late Renewal & Fines:
Books returned after the due date may incur a fine per day.
Continuous delays can lead to membership suspension.
3. Book Return Policy:
Books must be returned on or before the due date.
Members should ensure books are in good condition; damages may result in penalties or replacement requirements.
Returns can be done at the circulation desk during library hours.
